I've been listening to motivational speeches on The Importance of Being Positive. One of them is the 7-day mental diet by Anthony Robbins. The point is that we should be positive at anything in any situation. Difficult? Nope. It's just hard to do.
According to Robbins, we must struggle to keep positive in a 7-day mental exercise with no single negative thought. If we fall to negative thoughts before day 7, we should start all over from day 1. Wow....
I've trying this several times. And I always fail to complete it in 7 days.
I've been reading Paulo Coelho's Pilgrimage. It also offers certain exercises both mental and physical. What I remember and practice is the exercise of 'cruelty'. So, whenever we think something negative or bad, I press my nail to my finger until it hurts and therefore I forget the negative thought. It works.
There are a lot of exercises in that book. Sometimes I also practice Water Exercise. Here, we play our finger freely with a drop of water on any flat surface, following our intuition. It is said that it can train our intuitive decision. And it's true. I often practice it while playing SUDOKU - one of my favorite games - to decide the appropriate number to fill in the box.
And.............
On Tuesday, May 28, 2013, something happened. One of my colleagues told me that people at my office figured out that my work performance decreased. They thought that it might be due to my frustration of being ousted from my previous position of the head of a section. Blaaar..... What a horrible gossip!
It shocked me and I couldn't stop thinking about that in several days. It forced me use the techniques I've learned on Mental Exercises: Positive Thinking, Cruelty and Water Exercise.
Yuppie.....it works.
Finally I find that cosmic awareness will eventually make me understand the work of mind and then control it for the best use.
Have a nice try.
